Cosmetology Job Demand
Results Released for Texas
The national survey of the cosmetology industry found that 53 percent of salon owners had job openings. Salons filled nearly 485,000 open positions in 2006. Experienced salon professionals who changed positions accounted for 62 percent of the new hires; inexperienced professionals will less than one year's experience accounted for the othe 38%.
